Rakov Škocjan nature reserve is the most famous karst area in Slovenia, mostly because of its two natural bridges known as the Big Natural Bridge and the Small Natural Bridge. The water of the river Rak that flows through it comes here underwater from Cerkniško polje and after it disappears comes out again at Planinsko polje.
