The Cerknica Lake (Cerkniško jezero) is a beautiful consequence of the Karst phenomenon. It appears and disappears as it pleases, creating some spectacular views in the process. It has many faces depending on the water level, time of year, time of day and weather. The water from this lake flows underground and emerges again at Rakov Škocjan.
